I have a T1 line and am dropping internet connection very often lately(every 2 days for a few minutes). However every other application on my LAN will be fine, but the internet. The T1 line provider stated that there were 56000 collisons reported on the router. They cannot tell me where it is coming from because it is internally related.
The reason why i believe it, it’s because I switched to a regular dsl line hooked up to a basic LINKSYS 4 port-router and this morning it dropped too. And all you do is wait for a few minutes and it’ll be back by itself.
So, is it a wiring problem, network card, switch? What is the most efficient way to troubleshoot this? I have about 60 clients and 10 servers. Is there any software that allows to scan and monitor a LAN and would locate collisons?
