Internet Explorer 8 Beta

By jrhyer ·
Good Evening:
A few weeks ago Microsoft offered me a copy of their IE 8 Beta for testing purposes. Since then I've had nothing but problems with the internet. The most common problem is the fact that I could be in the middle of a project and a box comesup on the screen saying that IE was shutting down. Please, oh please help me if you can!!!!
Respectfully,

Try and ...

...install the next release.

It is a RC1 client. MS says it is a final pre-release.

Had a few problems on a XP and Vista machine. After the RC update, most pains went away.

Other pains were solved with compatability view.

Before you do that

If you have XP SP3 installed, uninstall the beta before installing RC1.

This i a BETA Release

And as such it's not expected to work properly. The idea is that problems get reported to M$ and they fix them before the Product gets released.

M$ Recommends that you Do Not use Beta Products in Critical Systems.

I would advise you to open the Control Panel go to the Add Remove Programs and delete IE8 and continue to use IE7. That at least is supposed to work properly. If it's not you can look at your Software for possible corruptions or use another Web Browser like FireFox available for download here
