Internet Service Testing

Can anyone tell me if there are any online services that can test my web and email services status from the internet. I want to ensure that all my hits are getting through and that all emails are also getting through and if not then I should be notified?

  I use this site’s statistics program, Wusage, to see how many visits, where they are coming from, browsers used, etc. It’s been completely reliable and easy to use.
