Internet support

One of my users is having problems getting his msn messenger and any site to open.

I followed all protocals. I was able to get him connected, but we couldn't open any sites. How can I solve ths problem

Basic checks:

- Does this machine have an IP address? Can you ping your local address, or 127.0.0.1? This checks internal configurations.
- If so, can you ping other machines on your local subnet? This verifies local connectivity.
- If so, can you ping your default gateway (router)? This checks your path to the internet.
- If so, can you ping an IP address out on the Internet? This checks that traffic is going out (and coming back) from the internet, and verifies correct TCP/IP configs for the network.
- If so, can you ping a web site by URL out on the Internet? If not, check your machine has a DNS server entered (and the DNS server is up and running!).

try ipconfig /release, ipconfig /renew from the command prompt. It's helped me w/ slow connectivity before.

I'd like to thank everyone for their help in solving this problem.
I re-checked my proxy and my port. There was a mistake in the port setting.
