Intranet messages through Outlook

By Sprocket ·
On our Intranet we have a message screen which allows users to select a user and write a short message. When they click send it sends the message through their Outlook, quick and easy.

On one machine however, this has stopped working correctly. Im sure the user has ticked a box or set an option in Outlook, so when they click send the 'new message' screen from outlook appears instead with the correct email address in, but looses the message. Ofcourse this is the machine that uses the message screen most often.

What could be causing this?

I'm guessing when you say "message screen" you mean a webpage with a form on it. If you look at the HTML for this webpage, the <FORM tag will probably look like this:
<FORM action="mailto:xxxxx?subject=xxxx
&body=xxx" ... >
This is what is sending the message through their mail client (Outlook). I suspect that either the browser or the Outlook client was recently upgraded on this machine, and there is some kind of anti-spam setting that is interfering with this form.

Another possibility is that the Network User Name that the machine is logged in under does not have a local Outlook profile on that machine.

Just my $0.02
