I have a user with a Gateway system, Win 98 and a 3Com 10/100 NIC. Problem is, we run a DHCP server on campus that works fine for everyone ELSE but this user! She brought her machine from a previous location and there’s an IP address and unique subnet mask bound to the card that I can’t shake. Uninstalling and reinstalling network drivers doesn’t seem to make a difference (nor the cold boot). Control panels show TCP/IP for that card should be getting the IP info from the DHCP server, but ipconfig in a DOS window consistently shows the old address/mask.
Anyone know a way around this? Will physically removing the NIC affect any address bound to the card, or do I have to find some obscure 3COM utility to make this change via software?
