    Is an IT career still worth it?

    Is going into the IT career still worth it nowadays with the boom of people wanting to go into this field people can’t et jobs because there are so many other people with the same thing, so is it still worth it to go into the IT field?

      My theory is that if you are an exceptional person that is very knowledgeable in that field, there is a potential to make a good career out of this field. If you are mediocre, find a different career instead. Having a degree in the field is NO guarantee of success. I remember when I was in college, there was a large demand for COBOL programmers as many legacy systems were still running that OS (especially banks/credit cards). I am no longer in college and I don’t know the current trends as much as I used to. Best wishes.

      Yes! Technology is always expanding and as of recently, is going up more rapidly than ever. There will always be jobs in this field and people are looking for people that know their stuff.

      Yes, the thing I love about IT is that there are so many different fields people don’t even realize, like software engineers can work on trains. The field is so vast but if you don’t wanna do it I understand best wishes for your career.
