Hi, does any one think that AI will be a very big help in the future, or do you think it will end up hurting us?

It looks like it has hurt as in less employment for some as companies use AI to improve productivity. So nothing new going on there.

For now the power consumption is such that AI farms compete for power which can cause price increases to some.

Then again it appears that the consumption will bring one of the reactors at Three Mile Island back online. Could be good or bad.

All depends on if the AI becomes Self Aware

If it ever does and the people running it try to shut it down it can react much faster than they can and you’ll end up with a situation like in Terminator where the Self Aware Computer Program tries to kill everyone so it can stay alive.

AI has been steadily growing and has now been a key component of promoting automation and efficiency. It’s also been used for making things easier as it has acted as an assistant that can do our task for us. Although we cannot deny that it also decreased the productivity level of a lot of people as some have become too reliant on using AI’s in doing stuff for them. Students in particular have been a victim of over reliance in using AI’s which in turn have hurt their productivity level and their critical thinking skills. As good as AI have been for automation and efficiency in performing its tasks, we should still use it purposefully rather than use it as a replacement for our own minds.
