Is it a good idea to implement NoQSL in a new social network?

    by cesarperezj989 ·

I am going to create a new social network but I only use SQL, do you recommend studying NoSQL for its implementation?

To the question, you must answer.

It’s YOUR system. YOU make the choices. YOU get to code to get what YOU want. There is no yes or no to your question. YOU get to answer this one.

As to study, always learn new things. That question is much easier. Always a good idea to learn the other systems.

And don’t forget the AI part. I read Facebook uses it a lot to make the network smarter (like for picture recognition and automatically deleting bad content).

NoSQL is a perfect solution when designing social network apps. Probably developing your social network with MySQL may be easier at the start, but later, when the app grows and the number of users grows too you will have to think how to manage a MySQL cluster, deal with master-slave configs, etc.
