is it possible to run an old microsoft program netmeeting or conf.exe?

By jun_v_99 ·
In the past, the program netmeeting was accessable on the Win98 OP, then was a hidden program in WinExp; at this point in time, tech republic gave me several solution to run the program which was successful in my end. Now, I wonder if it is still possible possible to run the program on the WinVista OP; it is one of the simple program with direct video conferencing that connects direct to the other party without using a third party website such as MSN, yahoo, skype, google or etc.; as to its security, I could not comment on the matter. Thanks in advance.

Netmeeting is not that old. we use that as a backup to our other remote control software. It really works well with VPN/Remote users who are often on various networks. to enable it you have to go to add/remove programs and look for it under windows components.

GL with this.

While MS wants you to use Vista's Meeting Space http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/What-happened-to-NetMeeting

You should be able to just download and install NetMeeting http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=26c9da7c-f778-4422-a6f4-efb8abba021e&DisplayLang=en

But you should set compatibility mode before installing http://techrepublic.com.com/5208-6230-0.html?forumID=102&threadID=202674&messageID=2139796
