Is it possible to unlock a protected PDF?

by janhardin219 . Updated 1 year, 4 months ago

I often receive PDFs that are password-protected or have restrictions, such as preventing copying, printing, or highlighting text. This can be inconvenient when I need to extract information or annotate the document for work.

Does anyone know if it’s possible to unlock such PDFs to remove these restrictions on Windows OS? Are there reliable tools or methods (preferably free or cost-effective) that can handle this safely?

For context, I mostly work on a Mac, so any solutions that are Mac-friendly would be particularly helpful. Thanks in advance for your advice!
