    Is there a reason why chatgpt won’t open in Google Chrome on Windows 7?

    The chatgpt application has not opened under windows 7 google chrome browser. I have researched on the internet but have not found any useful solutions.

      A possible reason is that the highest version of Chrome on Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 is 109, while the current version of Chrome for Windows 10 is 113.

      Then there is no “solution”. Luckily, your subject line asks for a reason, not for a solution to get it working.

      Last week our office gave the last W7 PC away. They’ll try to use it as-is or install some Linux.

      It was just last week and the Chrome browser was giving a warning about the browser was not going to be updated so no surprise the ChatGPT could have issues.

      BUT you wrote “application” and not the ChatGPT website. An application for Chrome would be an “extension” so are you reporting there’s an extension with the issue or the ChatGPT website?

      For now try all the other browsers that run on W7. There is no expectation or hope that Google will fix this one.

      I suspect that ChatGPT may not be fully compatible with Google Chrome in conjunction with Windows 7 yet. Considering it is still in development, it may be compatible eventually. I know it is compatible with Windows 11 and Google Chrome.
