It’s an i7, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD, and the 3050ti. Feels nice, and performance is good.

Between the two you listed it’s your choice as no clear winner there. Count on bumping the RAM up some day.

      Hi

I just checked BestBuy for ASUS Zephyrus G15 and you can get an open box variant for around $900.
That too with an RTX 3060.
      It is a badass laptop.
Recommended it to my best friend and he’s been blown away by the performance, thermals and form factor.

I wont say its the best option out there but it very well gets the job done. Although, I would recommend getting 16gb ram since 3D design softwares tend to use a lot of processing and for a smoother experience, you would require 16gb and preferable an i7. You can manage with the i5 but 16gb ram would be ideal imo.

Based on the specifications, the Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 has an advantage with the AMD Ryzen 5 5600H processor, which generally offers good performance for multi-threaded tasks like 3D sculpting. Additionally, it has a dedicated graphics card and is more affordable than the MSI Thin GF63.

However, keep in mind that other factors such as display quality, build quality, and cooling capabilities are also important for an optimal digital art and 3D sculpting experience. If possible, I recommend visiting a nearby store to physically check both laptops and compare their displays and overall build quality.

Additionally, consider the warranty, customer support, and user reviews for each laptop to ensure reliability and satisfaction with your purchase.

Ultimately, the choice between the two laptops depends on your personal preferences and priorities. I hope this information helps you make an informed decision. Happy digital painting and 3D sculpting!

I’m into 3D sculpting and design

I’m into 3D sculpting and design, and I’m considering purchasing this laptop. Can anyone confirm if it’s suitable for handling 3D sculpting software like Blender or ZBrush? I’m particularly concerned about the graphics card and processing power. Any feedback or alternative laptop recommendations for 3D artists would be much appreciated!

When looking for a laptop for 3D sculpting, consider the following specifications:

Processor: Look for a laptop with a powerful CPU, preferably an Intel Core i7 or AMD Ryzen 7 processor, to handle the computational demands of 3D sculpting software.

Graphics Card: A dedicated graphics card (GPU) is essential for smooth performance in 3D sculpting. Look for a laptop with a GPU from NVIDIA or AMD with dedicated VRAM.

RAM: Aim for at least 16GB of RAM to ensure smooth multitasking and handling of complex 3D models.

Storage: Consider a laptop with a fast SSD (Solid State Drive) for quick data access and smooth software operation.

Display: A high-resolution and color-accurate display is important for accurate 3D sculpting. Look for a laptop with an IPS panel and a resolution of at least Full HD (1920×1080) or higher.

Stylus Support: If you prefer to use a stylus for sculpting, make sure the laptop has stylus support and is compatible with popular digital pens like Wacom.

Cooling: 3D sculpting can be demanding on the hardware, so ensure the laptop has good cooling solutions to prevent overheating.

Before purchasing any laptop, it’s a good idea to read reviews, compare specifications, and consider your budget. If possible, try to find reviews or recommendations from professionals or enthusiasts who use laptops for 3D sculpting specifically.
