ISP Blocking VPN.. is there a way around

By TechNewsletters ·
Hi All!

I have a small problem

About 1-2 weeks ago, I noticed a problem getting into VPN at my office.
After speaking with my security specialist and several other VPN users, I found out the problem that I had was isolated only to me.

So after verifying all my configurations, I called my ISP... They said "VPN is a violation of our AUP". Stop trying to VPN into your office.
Frustrated with them, I hung up and read their AUP. It was certainly in there, in black and white.

Is therea way around?

Specs:
Cisco VPN Concentrater 3030
based at an OC12 broadband connection.

My side:
Cable modem w/ a Linksys Firewall BESF81 with a Windows XP Pro + windows 2000 box.

Thanks

let me know if you have any ?'s !!!!

Sorry, there is no way around this.

If your ISP blocks the VPN traffic, then it ain't getting through.

Sorry for the bad news. I can't understand why they would block VPN as its no risk to them and obviously restricts the services that they can offer. Time to change your ISP?
