    Issues with my Windows 10

    by chaseoneal2330264 ·

    Hello TechRepublic Users!!
I have installed Window 10 in my Laptop two month ago from my friend. Generally I play games like that I download from website. But from last 3 days my laptop on not starting. It is giving the following message on the screen “You PC ran into a problem and need to restart. We are just collecting some error info and then we will restart for you.”

When I restart my Laptop, still it gives the same message. Please give me best way to solve this problem. I do not want to change my window.

You might try booting the computer in “Safe Mode” to help determine at which point the error is occurring.

Sadly that only means what it told you.

That message has dozens of causes so I can’t type them all here.

-> If there is no more information your easiest fix is to start over with a clean install, then the usual drivers and apps you need for this PC.

I wish I had a better answer but with far too many causes starting over and hoping it’s not caused by hardware is best.

He says he doesn’t want to “change his window”, and I suspect that he finds reinstalling a change.

The 60 days makes me think it’s an unactivated install. After reinstalling he better buys a license key to activate. Hopefully his friend can help him with it.

          I’m guessing.

That the OP has another discussion on this one but it matters little what we want at times when Windows throws an error like this one. The details are not here to write any of the possible repairs so we are left with the usual “this seems to fix it” which is a reinstall.

If they are using an unactivated Windows then there are reasons it will drop dead after 2 months. It doesn’t matter which one it is but here I’ve seen Windows 10 run unactivated for years now. No, not any PC here but other clients.

Try a fresh install of Windows 10 or contact the technical support team of your manufacturer.

In his thread starter the OP says he doesn’t want to do a fresh install. And in one of his answers he says he got Windows 10 from a friend. It seems his friend is not a very good technical support team.
