Paraskevidekatriaphobics ? people afflicted with a morbid, irrational fear of Friday the 13th ?
The sixth day of the week and the number 13 both have foreboding reputations said to date from ancient times. Their inevitable conjunction from one to three times a year portends more misfortune than some credulous minds can bear. Folklorists say it's probably the most widespread superstition in the United States: some people won't go to work on Friday the 13th; some won't eat in restaurants; many wouldn't think of setting a wedding on the date.
How many Americans at the turn of the millennium still suffer from this condition? According to Dr. Donald Dossey, a psychotherapist specializing in the treatment of phobias and coiner of the term "paraskevidekatriaphobia," the figure may be as high as 21 million. If he's right, eight percent of Americans are still in the grips of a very old superstition.

Either way Friday 13h wouldn't bother me in the least.
I couldn't care less about walking under ladders (good thing since I've managed student painting crews), The number 666 just reminds me of good music, unbrellas indoors? I ALWYS open them in teh stor ebefore buying them so THAT bad luck begins immediately, and if you're really supersticious, how are you supposed to enjoy breaking a mirror?
I bet 13's at the race track, I kept three receipts of purchases where the total with tax has been either $6.66 or $666.00, just thought it ws kinda rare. (noting in Canada, you usually only GUESS what the total with tax is, some stuff is subject to two taxes other stuff just one). So you just know that whatever the sticker says, will be more at the cash register. You get good at estimating but every store's till rounds up differently, though they aren't supposed to.
Oh yeah....as Megadeth says it "I Ain't Superstitous".
I think its fascinating though, for real, how there are so many superstitions in this world. I think its all a crock mind you.
When bad things go wrong on a given day or close together in a close time frame -- its becuase sometimes life just sucks, it has nothing to do with you breaking a mirror, having a black cat cross your path, walking under a ladder, etc.
(hmmm..actually I guess if you impale yourself on shards of jagged glass that could be due to breaking the mirror, or you get paint dropped on your head could be from walking under the ladder, and then if you tripped on the cat that made you fall into the street and get hit by a bus....hmmm....ok, nevermind..)
The Number Of The Beast Steve Harris I left alone, my mind was blank, I needed time to think, to get the memories from my mind What did I see? Can I believe That what I saw that night was real and not just fantasy
Just what I saw in my old dreams, Were they reflections of my warped mind staring back at me 'Cause in my dreams it's always there, The evil face that twists my mind and brings me to despair
Night was black, Was no use holding back, 'Cause I just had to see Was someone watching me In the mist, Dark figures move and twist, Was this all for real Or some kind of ****
666, the number of the beast **** and fire was spawned to be released
Torches blazed And sacred chants were praised, As they start to cry Hands held to the sky In the night, The fires burning bright, The ritual has begun, Satan's work is done
666, the number of the beast Sacrifice is going on tonight
Solo
This can't go on, I must inform the law, Can this still be real Or some crazy dream? But I feel drawn toward the evil chanting hordes, Seem to mesmerize me, can't avoid their eyes
666, the number of the beast 666, the one for you and me
I'm coming back, I will return, And I'll possess your body and I'll make you burn I have the fire, I have the force, I have the power to make my evil take its course Back to the top
ps. So how many people you think will think we worship Satan now that they see a sliver of the music we like? LOL
