Japan IT employment outside of Tokyo?

By dbgt7 ·
It seems that I have discovered that although Japan is a nation of over 140 million people with several major cities that there are only a few job opportunities that exist outside of one city for non-natives and that is Tokyo. Can anyone tell me why? I am currently living in Japan Chubu region (Nagoya) Japan's third largest city and their doesn't appear to be any companies outside of Fujitsu Systems that is base here! Where are all of the IT related industries?

Not much else around, really...

Believe me, it is hard, especially in this economy. Have you tried Osaka/Kobe? Tsukuba, with the science research facilities up there, is the closest thing to Silicon Valley available (forget the Bit Valley thing JapanInc magazine is trying to pump - first, it is Tokyo; second, it is just lame...nothing but an excuse to party and meet nerds who drink). For Nagoya? Yeah - that would be a tough place to look.
