Yes, you can plot bar and other types of charts using Java and other technologies. You can find a simple example at http://javaboutique.internet.com/Chart/, for example. Though you can, probably, find many free pieces of Java code on the Internet, I'd think the best bet would be to buy some relatively inexpensive "building blocks" and customize these for your needs. Look for example at http://www.netcharts.com/. You might also find usefull http://www.javaappletstore.com/. There may be also manyother souces for Java based charting tools. I'm not sure how far you are willing to go for alternatives. If you do not mind using ASP, then look at http://www.softwarefx.com/chartfx/, where you can find very nice tools which are browser independent. You have to use ASP on the server, though. You'll need either Microsoft's IIS or Chili!Soft ASP product for Solaris, Linux, AIX or HP-UX (see http://www.chilisoft.net/)

Yes, of course you can plot graph in Java. It will depend on your programming skill. I do not know if there is any commerical product for doing so as I usually does the coding myself for whatever functions that I need. The net is wide, just search for it. Should not be a problem in finding a solution to that.
