Java Error

When installing java on Windows XP Pro sytem, an error message is displayed.

Error# 1722: There is problem with this windows installer package. A program run as part of set up did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.

I have tried Microsoft and Java sites and tried the solutions but without success.

Any help will be appreciated.
