JAVA related problem "Could Not Find The Main Class"

By zaeem_raza ·
Hello all....

The problem that I am facing is JAVA related or to be more specific .jar related.

See I have an executalbe .jar file that can be run with the help of Java Runtime Environment. When I try to run this file by double clicking on it it gives an error "Could Not Find The Main Class". When I try to run the same file on another machine (PC) it runs just fine......

I had the latest version of Eclipse installed on the PC that is giving the error message now to run JAVA based programs sometime ago . Now I have removed Eclipse from my PC. Is it something to do with Eclipse that the .jar files aren't running on that PC? If so what should I do now and if not....still what should I do? lol....

My both PCs have same attributes:

Windows Vista Business Edition SP1
Intel Core2 CPU T5600 @ 1.83 GHz 1.83 GHz
1 GB RAM
32 Bit OS.........

Plz Help guys...........Thank You

When you see that error, you are missing components from your jar build.

Thnx for the reply....

I visited that forum and all of them are talking about some program that they coded and which is giving error. In my case I don't have the source code of the program with me as I didn't wirte that program. The JAR file is executed resulting in a GUI to open and to play a game in it. I dont know what is the coding behind that so that forum was not much helpful to me..
