Java will not be the same if IBM goes under.

International Business Machines (IBM) donates to many Java opensource projects and foundations. Can you imagine the impact on Java if IBM would close shop.

IBM implements Java solutions or part there of, on all the business software that it rolls out. As such it has been to their best interest to donate to Java communities.

As a result of the prevailing economic recession IBM is faced with the risk of downsizing or possibly closing some of its shops.

* Do you have a different view?
* Do you think this is time for IBM to wean Java.
* Will Java survives the winds of Microsoft on its own?
