Why is the internet so slow. etc etc !

Best of luck

All of the above plus projects.
You will get one project after another. They could be new business applications, the constant upgrade of user software (ie Office) or infrastructure stuff like W2K Active Directory or SMS or implement a new backup solution or a SAN etc ....
Oh yeah, security, security, security. Except for this you will not be given any time or money.

I agree with everything mentioned so far, but you should widen the net further.

ANYTHING that has a plug on it (fax, photocopier, DVD player, TV, microwave, kettle etc) whether in the office or at home, will become your responsibility, from specifying the "best" (as in "what's the best PC to buy?", to taking the blame for any problems caused by you recommendation (or lack of it), to fixing it when it (inevitably) goes wrong.
You will also become the prime source of copies of Windows XP or Office "because I've lost my CD" in the eyes of anyone else in the buildings!

As well as this, you must be become totally familiar with the BOFH site http://bofh.ntk.net/*******.html in order to learn how to deal with the problems called "users".
Enjoy!
