Join A Windows 2012 Server to a Remote Domain

By saltjohn.john ·
Hi. I have a local domain server on domain e.g : example.example.org.za (not registered). This domain has a 41.160.xxx.xxx public IP address, and a 192.168.xxx.xxx internal IP address. All the internal user computers connect and authenticate with this domain server without problems. We however now want to join a Windows 2012 cloud server on a different public IP address 41.181.xxx.xxx to our internal domain which is hosted on internal lan IP 192.168.xxx.xxx or Public Ip address 41.160.xxx.xxx. This is meant to enable us to work on DFS service and start file replication for user data as well try and build Service Manager for the helpdesk system. Has anyone ever been successful in making a server on one network range join a remote domain on a totally different network range as above?

Your help is sincerely appreciated as I am out of my depth on this one but do not it to work somehow. If anyone has step by step instructions that would be a great help.
