The answer to this will require more space than required,so it would be suggested that you go to the Microsoft Knowledge base and download the white paper to do a PDC install,or follow the instruction booklet.
www.microsoft.com/knowledgebase/WIN2K/ADV.Server/tech/
White paper will give you more info
One other thing in WIN2K it does not distinguish between PDC AND BDC;there are only domain controllers

I agree with Soulriden, Jbay, Win2k does not distinguish between PDC and BDC, (there are not such using W2k) however you need to have a clear comprehension of "Mixed and Native mode", MIXED mode is the only one you can use if you have other operating systems other than Win2k (Prof., Server, Advance Server, etc) win95, win98 and are not using the full capabilities of a Active directory envyronment, NATIVE mode makes full and extensive use of the capabilities of Win2K, I would suggest you to purchase the "Microsoft Windows 2000 Administrator's Pocket Consultant" by Stanek, William R. isbn # 0735608318 excellent book, haven't seen anything like it..also check Minasi's book...

I agree with both answers. Windows 2000 is a monster. Your environment does not sound like it is going to cause a very big strain on the server. I would go with W2k Server instead of advanced unless you want some of the extra features (ie:clustering?) Your best bet is to get on Microsoft's Website and search for the white papers. (there are quite a few that can help) You have to take into consideration many issues (DNS, Active Directory, WINS, etc..) I am not sure how new you are to the game but it is a monster that will bite your head off if you are not careful. If your search on MS website doesn't help try www.ntfaq.com or hit the bookstore there are quite a few books that will help.
Good Luck!
