Keyboard failure error: IDE master self monitoring…

I managed to get my wife’s computer to boot after bypassing this message but the keyboard will not work. There are no lights at all and the device doesn’t show up in the control panel. I’m trying to find a driver I can download to my flash stick so I can install in her computer.
I’m afraid to restart! This whole thing started when I installed a Linksys usb wireless adapter– the login screen was hijacked by a Gina.dll file that belongs to Linksys… I managed to bypass login problem at start up by holding CTR+Shift but now this error has ocurred… Any ideas?
