Keyboard only works in safe mode or when holding down key for 1-2 seconds

By yanksfan288 ·
I have a Thinkpad T60 and starting this afternoon the keyboard on the laptop stopped working. The mousepad on the laptop works fine, and so do any of the Fn keys. I thought it wasn't working at all, but then realized it does work in perfectly fine safe mode and also will type a key if I hold it down for a second or two. Any ideas on what could be the problem? I have already tried reinstalling the keyboard drivers.

special buttons?

laptops usually have special buttons for like opening e-mail, or turning your wireless device on and off, etc. maybe there's an issue with the software that runs that.

Your sticky keys are turned on...turn them off
control panel --> Accessibility Options --> turn sticky keys off...that should help

Hit the shift key 5 times

That's an easier way to turn sticky keys on and/or off. That's the way most users turn them on. If it's "Filter Keys" however follow the instructions above from agent_drex
