LaCie 301826U d2 hard drives – any good/bad experiences to report?

Looking to buy a large external hard drive (up to one tb) for backing up my 3-year old Alienware XP system and assorted laptops. The LaCie 301826U d2 is a new product, so no mainstream reviews to be found.

Anyone have an opinion or two to share? Are the specs for this drive reasonable? (I have no expertise for evaluating large drive specs.)
