Laptop batteries

By suunsu ·
I have a HP Presario V6000. I use the computer all day long plugged in. I rarely use the battery. Can I take the battery out of the laptop and just run it off the AC adapter.

I believe you can- but why?

As long as you are using the computer plugged in, the battery is charging. This is good in the event that your power suddenly went out. You would simply move to battery power without losing your work.

I have found this to be extremely valuable!

Edit- missed a consonant...

Removing batteries

I use the laptop all day long at home and mostly to talking over Teamspeak. I thought that never running down the battery would ruin it, so that if I needed to charge the battery and use it in the battery it would not hold a good charge.

why do u need to take out the battery

by himanshumogal143 In reply to Removing batteries

mate I have been using the my HP laptop for more than 3 yrs with no problems to the battery, once in 2 or 3 days I just dont plug it in for an hour and use the battery so it discharges, then when i plugit in it charges. Does not matter whether u take out the battery or leave it in till it can charge and discharge and moreover u never need to discharge the battery completely.
