Laptop Cooler Replacement.

Few days ago I’ve ordered a cpu fan with the same model as my laptop but unfortunately I didn’t notice it was from a different manufacturer. My basic cooler is from sunon and this one is the exact same model but it’s slightly taller with a few mm and the top case with the keyboard might not fit in correctly. If it is the case,are there any problems if I would have to leave the case slightly cracked on the cooler side while protected from dust? I’m also using external keyboard so I don’t need the actual incorporated one.

Not a good idea to leave the case even slightly open. You didn’t mention the make/model of the laptop. Don’t tempt fate or bad karma. Get the exact CPU fan designed for your computer instead. Just my honest opinion.

Asus Notebook series, Model X550CL. I did find a new cooler but they say it’s compatible for multiple models aswell, I’m just not sure of it.
I find results such as Cooler laptop, Asus, X450VP, X550CA, X550CC, X550CL, X550EA, X550EP, X550LA, X550LB, X550LC, 4 pins For the same fan. It does look the same but does not tell size, I’d assume it’s universal for this manufacturer.

No guarantee that the CPU cooler will be the same amongst different models, even from the same manufacturer and the same chipset. The part # of the cooler is the critical thing to verify.
