About 3 years ago I had a Compaq presario V2000 Laptop and the AC plug-in adapter for the MOBO failed on me ( I guess since it was a plastic piece it could not be re mounted, so I would have had to buy a new MOBO said the tech guy) Anyway I Purchased a DELL XPS 210 instead and went for the desktop life.. Basically what I am asking is how I would be able to use my laptops HD on my Desktop? I bought a thing you can mount your old Laptop HD in and plug into a Desktop via USB but it wont allow me to access my documents since my old laptop HD was password protected (at the windows start-up screen):( I can really care less about most of the stuff on it except for the over 400 pictures I have from my entire NAVY enlistment that are stored on that HD I would really like to snag these memories without having to find someone with a compaq desktop to plug it into.
The Laptop HD is the old kind with all the pins
and the Desktop is the new kind with the SATA or whatever its called so I cant actually plug it into my desktop and start up like that
Any information about how to access this HD would be awesome.. thanks in advance
