I uninstalled a logitech driver because my laptop didn’t have a logitech mouse or keyboard. I was getting pop-ups on my desktop and thought that this would get rid of them. Now when I boot up I can enter the BOIS and safe mode screens but I can’t get past the user password screen because the keyboard won’t work once Windows XP Media addition is loaded. Is there anyway to install the driver for the keyboard before Windows loads(like from the BIOS) or enter the password before windows loads. I tried deleting the password in the BIOS but that didn’t work. Is still get a message stating invalid password. I tried plugging in a USB keyboard and that doesn’t work. My laptop is a Gateway MX6453 and it doesn’t have a ps/2 port. I haven’t tried the recovery yet because I don’t want to lose all my info if I don’t have too. I tried last known good configuration – that didn’t work. I tried booting up in safemode and that didn’t work. Evidently the logitech driver was a spyware thing that is not allowing my computer to see that I have a keyboard with no driver. I don’t know what kind of logitech driver that was installed because I didn’t install it. I’d appreciate any suggestions. I have looked through a number of sights and all the suggestions I have found so far require you to be in Windows and I can’t get that far.
