    Hi all,
I work for an a dpt where we create, edit and publish training videos and eLearns and therefore require a higher spec laptop than most of the other dpts.
I have been challenge to justify a purchase of a laptop and I would like to provide my manager with quantitive data explaining the increased performance of Laptop 2 below.
In my justification I would like to ask you guys:

What quantative data can anybody offer in the speed difference of the laptops below:

Laptop 1 (standard IT issue): HP EliteBook 840 14-inch G9 Laptop (16GB RAM)
Laptop 2 (preferred option): MSI Stealth 14Studio 14″ QHD+ 240Hz Pure White Gaming Laptop (13th Gen Intel i7)[GeForce RTX 4050]

Examples I’m looking for are Laptop 2 is approximately ‘x’ amount times faster than laptop 1. It’s all about time saved waiting around for rendering etc.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Wayne

The best you can do is to rent the preferred laptop or a comparable one (same or comparable CPU, RAM and graphics) and do a benchmark with the programs you use and a representative collection of task.

Then you have hard data that the management can use to decide. It’s about the productivity of your dept compared with the burden for the IT to support one such non-standard laptop.

        Thanks for the reply,
Unfortunately I am unable to use the gaming laptop because it is not supported by our IT dpt yet and requires their input to be able to use it.
Any further help would be greatly appreciated though if possible?
