I have been working on a HP Pavilion dv8000 laptop with 1gb ram running WinXP for an individual. His problem was a noisy cpu fan and overheating. He also stated that his brother spilled soda and orange juice into this unit. I proposed that he get a new heatsink and fan unit but he didn’t want to spend the money. I disassembled this laptop and cleaned the heatsink and and fan unit. After reassembling this unit it shows no sign of any power activity. Any help with this issue will be deeply apreciated.
