Ouch, sounds like you got a virus

by mjd420nova In reply to Laptop won't boot, can't ...

Too many of the newer virus/hijack worms out there today are of the type that will reflash the BIOS. The only cure is to remove the battery for the CMOS and let the unit go into the default BIOS. Then you should be able to get back into the BIOS and make the changes you need and restore the settings to suit the hardware installed. Good luck

What computer do you have?
Any idea what the mobo is?
What is LGNKC? North Korea Nuclear Challenge?

LGNKC is unfortunately a TYPO

That should have been spelled Last Known Good Configuration (LKGC).
I have an ASI CL51-15 notebook.
I was trying to follow the previous instruction but the computer is difficult to disassemble.I took off all the screws but can only half open the lid!

Re installing OS could be a solution, as only this not only formats ur laptop also gets rid of unwanted virus...

Try reading the actual text before offering an answer ...

by OldER Mycroft In reply to Laptop

If you had read the actual problem you'd realise the poor bloke couldn't load the OS because the boot-sequence was HD first!!

Honestly, try reading the whole post next time. :)

If possible get another hdd and

More memory up it to 2gb (if possible).
Put in the new drive and memory and see if you can then get into your bios.

Please post back if you have any more problems or questions.
