Leapfrog migration advice for jumping from Win98 to WinXP

By D.H. Cesare ·
The next technique is to use the Windows XP Files And Settings Transfer Wizard to back up your files and settings. The idea is that you can use the wizard to create a compressed copy of all of your files and settings. You can then copy the compressed file to a CD, blank the hard disk, and install Windows XP. When Windows installs, you can use the wizard to import the compressed file.

That's great unless you have 30G of programs and settings. Then what do you do?

Grab a Beer and rebuild

by Chris.. In reply to Leapfrog migration advice ...

OK man just burn your data to CD(s) and build the XP system from scratch. Don't waste your time with over complicating something as simple as a system rebuild.

Yikes when will MS or who ever gave you this leapfrog advice ever learn?!?!!?
