Legal Practice Management Software

By n00bst4r23 ·
I am wondering how many members on here work in an IT environment related to Legal Industry, like say, a Systems Administrator in a Law firm.

For those who work in a similar environment, what Practice Management Software do you use and which are the best features of that software that you like?

As for me, we use Amicus Attorney 2007, and it terribly sucks.

I'm still deciding ...

I'm working with both Abacus and Amicus on a trial basis. Amicus has some spots I like, but the way it relates the various entities to each other seems awkward at times. Abacus seems to have a nice uniform theory of entity relationships, but it is packaged with support and training overhead that make it too expensive for someone like me trying to start out on a shoestring.

I'm curious to know why you think Amicus is problematic. I am working with the 2008 Small Firm Edition.

Few of the issues with Amicus...

Amicus does integrate nicely with Outlook and all, but it's very buggy. Many times whenever someone posts something onto the calendar, it automatically gets deleted. Also, when firm members try to post their time on TimeSheets, it randomly exits or posts incorrect time entries.

These are just few of the many issues about Amicus.
