LENOVO vs DELL Core i7 – Need Advice

    Hi everyone,

I’m looking to purchase a Core i7 laptop but I’m torn between LENOVO and DELL. I’m particularly interested in which brand is better in terms of battery backup and other key factors like performance, durability, and value for money.

A bit about me: I live in Dubai and have a very busy schedule, so I don’t have time to visit markets or stores. I’m planning to buy the laptop online.

What do you guys think? Is buying online a good idea? I’d love to hear your recommendations and personal experiences with these two brands, especially regarding battery performance and online shopping reliability.

    Thanks in advance!

Looking forward to your advice. 😊

    Cheers,

Both are reputable brands. However, you can’t really compare brands for battery life, performance, durability and value for money. Those depend on the model.

In several online shops, see what they offer based on your criteria. Make a longlist of models. Then read reviews, and make a shortlist with the top3 models. Then buy the cheapest of those (they all meet your criteria, or they wouldn’t have appeared on your longlist), maybe also taking into account reviews of the shops or the service or warranty.

Buying online generally is a good idea. The reliability of online shopping doesn’t depend on the model you buy, but only on the shop you buy it.

Personally, I have a Dell laptop and a Dell laptop, both refurbished models I bought recently. I felt no need to spend more to buy the latest models. I have no complaints. My son has a Lenovo laptop he bough a few year ago and has no complaints either. But your mileage may vary.

So, between Lenovo and Dell, both are good, but it really depends on what you need.

For battery life, Lenovo ThinkPads are usually better—they last longer, especially if you’re not pushing them too hard. Dell’s okay, but unless you’re looking at something like the XPS, the battery can be a bit meh.

Performance-wise, both will be solid with a Core i7, but make sure you go for at least 16GB RAM and an SSD—that’s what’ll make the difference.

Now, durability? Lenovo ThinkPads are built like bricks. If you’re rough on your stuff, they’re the safer option. Dell is decent too, but their cheaper models can feel a bit plasticky.

Buying online? Totally fine. Amazon, Noon, or even directly from the brand should be safe. Just check the warranty and return options so you’re not stuck if something’s off.

Honestly, if you’re all about battery and durability, go Lenovo. If you like sleek designs and can snag a good deal, maybe Dell.
