Review and plan your code

And let others, impartially, review your code.

Post it clearly on your site or product where to send vulnerabilities and bugs to.

Investigate every legitimate claim and work with the person who made the claim.

When releasing the advisory, always include the person who found the hole/bug.

Many brains make better code

It is clear that more brains and more checkers and more effort make for better code.
