licensing lockout of win98 clients smb40

My client has a single nt40 PDC server with a 20 user license. The server is now denying client access for anything over 7 simultaneous logins.

The event viewer error message is ” no license available for user domain\username using product SMBserver4.0….the event ID is 201.

The server licensing was Per server and now is per seat based on the fixed indicated by Microsoft technet. Still the problem persist and has become more prevalent and persistent. Terminal server is not configured oractive.

I have del the files cpl.cfg, Lluser.lls and Llsmap.lls as per Microsoft technet…this has not fixed the problem. Help ..blakent@earthlink.net
