Life after aquisition for IT manager

By janderson ·
We were formally informed of our company being aquired last week. I am the IT manager and have two others working for me. We run windows servers and an as/400. Our company is a small (50+ employees) business that is part of a larger brand name. The aquiring company is making the 5 small companies combine to form one company. Each company has run independently, so we each have an IT manager, controller, president, etc. and we each run programs on different platforms. Our aquirer supposedly runs SAP and I am assuming that is what we will be converting to.

My major concerns are for the people that work for me and are primarily experienced on the as/400 and my future as a manager. I'm sure many of you have been through aquisitions, and some feedback would be greatly appreciated.

What is the possibility that we would move to the aquiring company's platform, SAP?
If we do move to SAP, would there be need for 10-14 IT people?
