limiting email attachments?

By MH101 ·
I was just put in charge of our email server and I want to check or activate email attachment sizes for each user. We have an email server running Windows 2003 Server and Exchange 2003.

Can anyone refresh my memory on where to find the limitations and/or how to set it up? Thanks in advance.

This is a tech. problem, in search of a solution.

It properly belongs in "Technical Q&A," not in "Discussions."

Please re-post there.

Thank you.

Try 80 MByte per user, 2MB attachment

by Gunnar Klevedal In reply to Wrong forum

I agree with Deepsand, this should be posted in Q&A. However
Give every user 80 MByte on the mail server, including inbox, sent, calendar etc. Allow a maximum of 2 Mbyte attachment in a mail. You might want to block executables as an attachment, even in a zip-file. Users should be encourged to save mail items in 'Personal folders' stored on their home drive, on the network. Later on you can try and increase each mailbox to 160 MB
