Linking Workbooks in Excel

How do you unlink workbooks? I know that there is a links option in the Edit menu but that only allows you to update the link. It does not allow you to remove the link.

You'll have to locate the formulas that are referencing the other spreadsheet and remove the reference. The workbook will then stop asking for update information.

There are a couple of ways, depending on the size of your spreadsheet.
1) touch F5 (GoTo). Choose Special and Formulas. All of the formulas on that sheet will be highlighted and you can Tab through them to locate the relevant entries.
2)Ctrl+~ (Control+ tilde) will toggle all formulas to be displayed.
3) Use Edit>Find to locate something like: !, .xls, [ or other components of a formula that indicate links.
