links not being translated correctly

I am sending a newsletter to subscribers. The newsletter is html format.
using some text
translates correctly most of the time but some of my subscribers are getting
file:///”http://www.waggingtailproductions.com/// and get a unknown or not found or something like that when they try to click the link. also the word didn’t translates as didn///’t. I have sent the email to myself using 4 different mail clients and the links come through fine. I don’t know where to look.
