Linux Performance Issues: High CPU Usage Without Clear Cause – Need Expert

    by thom.sonsteve.01 ·

    Hi,
I’m experiencing unusually high CPU usage on my Linux system, even when no resource-intensive processes are running. I’ve checked system logs, monitored processes with top and htop, but I can’t pinpoint the cause. Could this be related to a misconfigured service, a kernel issue, or something else? I’d appreciate any insights from the community on troubleshooting methods and potential fixes .

So I’ll share that the last time I was tasked to look at this I found:

      1. A system with hard disk drives.
      2. A system with a single core CPU and 1GB RAM.

CPU cycles are there to be used. If the system is too slow we look to upgrade the system. If the system works but shows high CPU use we don’t fix it.
