I work for a small health care provider that offers many in service presentations to patients, referal sources, and insurance companies. We currently have a Win2K server box with a simple folder hierarchy, but now that our image/file database has grown to 9000+ images I would like to create a searchable image database. Does anybody have any strategies to deploy this with a linux setup? I am aware that a MySQL backend will be needed, but I am looking for the most efficient way to implement this solution. I hope to have access via our local intranet and already have a fully functioning apache server in house.
