Locked Excel can not use Find command

By nevernessit ·
Hi all, and thanks in advance.

I'm having an issue with a spreadsheet here at work that has been protected by another person. I can access the spreadsheet and read its contents, but the find command does not work. When I try to find something in the document it says Microsoft Office Excel can not find the data your searching for.

Is there anyway around this besides removing the protection on the spreadsheet?

Thanks very much.

Have you tried copying to a new workbook and then performing the find command there?

You need to select each sheet, set the filter criteria to Show All, and then perform the search.

To show all data in a filtered list, on the Data menu, point to Filter, and then click Show All.

Hope this works, it did when someone locked our sheets at work.

try this it works. just make sure your security on macros is low. virus checked and ok
open your spread sheet and run the macro.

if you want a full explanation just ask.
