Login Script

By tirado ·
I have a NT 4.0 Server which is my PDC. It has a login script that all my clients here should run when they login to the PDC. My problem is that the login script only runs when it wants to. My clients get no errors. It just doesn't run. I can open the server through Network Nieghborhood and run the script from the NETLOGON Share with no problem. This server is also the WINS and DHCP server. My clients are WIN95 and NT WS 4.0. Any Ideas??
Thanks

Do you have any BDC's? If you do your clients might be logging into a BDC and withought replication set up or the logon script in the netlogon share of your BDC then it won't run. One thing to check is when someone doesn't get the logon script open up Windows NT Diagnostics, click on the network tab and see what the logon server is.

Do you have any BDC's and if so are you replicating your NETLOGON directory from your PDC to your BDC's? Check your NT W/S for the LOGONSERVER variable on a client that did not execute the lgoon script, and see where it points to.

Do you have a logon script specified in the user's account profile. If so, ensure that it just contains the login script name witha .BAT or .CMD extension.
