Looking for OCR Software, any suggestions?

By Tech b00n ·
Hello all,

I have recently been tasked with acquiring OCR software for the organization I work for; I am not too familiar with with OCR in general, but my manager advises me that cost is no issue if I find one, can anyone point me in the right direction?

What is this for here and how high a Volume of Scanning is required?

This is what you need to look at what is expected to be achieved with this Software. How long a Learning Experience will be allowed and is it required to be used over the LAN?

Thanks for the reply. The software will be used over LAN.

The software itself will be deployed to the front office of the organisation where there will be at least moderate levels of scanning during normal periods.

Ultimately, we are looking for a software with a very high degree of accuracy when reading documents.

Abby FineRead Pro

by 1bn0 In reply to Hey

Apparently its the software of choice for those who illegally scan and distribute copyrighted materials on the internet.

Apparently its a case of why buy mediocre when you can pirate the best. Aby FineReader has a good reputation for accuracy of OCR.

No. I am not suggesting you download a pirate copy of Abby FineReader. I am just pointing out the people who do download software generally go for the best they can get their hands on.

We can provide you specific OCR software based on your specification

It's easy to find an OCR software, but if you want to find good OCR software, you need to tell us your requirement, such as what do you want to use it? what languages you need to read? and so on.
