Losing connection to company intranet

By kmacauley ·
Hi

One of our clients is having problems with his laptop intranet connection. Reguarly he cannot connect to the intranet and this requires a batch file to be ran in order to restore connection to the company' intranet. Accessing websites is still available though?

This doesnt happen on anybody else machine. Power settings have been changed to see if this resolved the problem by turning off "allow windows to disable this device to save power" but this did not resolve the issue

any suggestions as to resolve the problem?

Thanks

What happens?

by jimmy-jam In reply to Losing connection to comp ...

If he can still get internet but not intranet, sounds like a DNS problem to me. When he loses connection can he hit the intranet by IP address? Since this is a laptop, did the user load his home ISP stuff and could that be the issue?

batch file

in the batch file is the flush dns and register dns commands. Although this doesnt always fix it. It has happened again this morning.

Sorry infact the batch file has never worked. although right clicking and choosing repair solves the problem
