losing site definitions in Dreamweaver

By Dcrish ·
I have lost all of my site definitions in Dreamweaver MX. Whenever I re-enter them and exit the program, they immediately disappear.

I know that I can re-install the program, but I recall this happening in the past, and I wonder if anyone else has experienced it.

What can I do to hold the site definitions? Thanks.

After Creating your Sites, backup the following Registry Key to a file in your Documents for easy recovery:
(Start / Run / Regedit.exe)

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Macromedia\Dreamweaver 6\Sites

If this happened recently and you are running either XP or ME, you can do a system restore to the day they were there, and then backup the registry key.

Also, try updating to the latest version, they should have a fix for this available.

Hope this helps.

It doesn't help. I just want to be able to run the software normally without having to run a recovery each time that I open Dreamweaver MX. I don't want to upgrade. This version should work for me.

Since I did not get any additional answers, however, I'll close the question.
